BIOGRAFIE: The soprano Meret Roth studied at the Zurich University of Applied Arts (ZHdK). She attained her Master's degree with distinction from Jane Thorner-Mengedoht's class. She was also awarded the prize of the Werner und Berti Alter Foundation. The focus of her bachelor's degree had been on baroque singin, which she studied under Jill Feldman.Meret Roth can be heard regularly as a concert singer. She is a member of the baroque ensemble 'Ensemble Lusciniol' and of the professional vocal ensemble 'The Zurich Chamber Singers'. Besides her professional engagements as a classical and baroque singer, she is also busy as a speaker and actor, in which capacity she specializes in contemporary performance projects. She was a soloist with the Bavarian Radio under the direction of Susanna Mälkki in their series "Musica viva". As a participant in the Lucerne Festival Academy she sang in Berio's Coro for 40 singers and orchestra under the direction of Sir Simon Rattle. Futhermore she has participated in and been inspired by masterclasses with Barbara Hannigan, Donatienne Michel-Dansac, Marijana Mijanovic, Sarah Maria Sun and Daniel Fueter. |
