ENSEMBLE

The association "Besuch der Lieder [The Company of Song]", as well as the ensemble of singers and pianists that go with it, were founded by Edward Rushton in 2015. The project was initially made possible through a donation from Edward's mother's legacy. Virginia Rushton, who died in 2015, was a singer and singing teacher, and a passionate devotee of Art Song. She made several wonderful programmes combining literature and music, and as such was an inspiration to Edward, who also had his first experiences of being a collaborative pianist for Song with her and her students.
